[ENG TRANS | KWI EXCLUSIVE] KWI's Interview with LUNAFLY

Another Korean idol who'll come and held a concert in Indonesia this year. And they are LUNAFLY, rookie group from NEGANETWORK. LUNAFLY consists of Sam Carter (leader, vocal, guitar), Teo (vocal, piano, percussion) and Yun (maknae, vocal, guitar), they had debut on September 27th 2012. Not like any other rookie these days, which form as boyband or girlband, LUNAFLY come as a band whose singing their own song, playing their own instrument and composed their own song.

Even they didn't do broadcasting promotion in tv music program and produced physical album, LUNAFLY already got a special place in every kpop lover's heart, not only in Korea but also almost in every country around the world. Its proven by a lot of LUKIE's fanbase that spread evenly from various country around the world.

Last February, KoreanWaveINA (KWI) had a chance to did an interview with the three multitalented namja. Wanna know what we're talking about in the interview? Check out the interview below.

KoreanWaveINA (KWI) : Its your first time coming to Indonesia. How is your impression about this country also the fans?

LUNAFLY (L) : We know that the weather is very good which we are looking forward to. We also hear the food is very spicy and delicious, so we can't wait to try the food. We do get a lot of supporting message from our fans in Indonesia which we really appreciate. Its clear that our fans are very pro active in supporting us, so we very much want to pay them back with a memorable concert.

KWI : What kind of foods that you want to try in Indonesia?

L : We are looking forward to trying satay (sate) and gado-gado, we heard those foods are so delicious.

KWI : It's actually rare an acoustic group/band among so many kpop idol group nowadays. So, what/who's inspiring LUNAFLY in making a good music and also daring to be different?

L : Well, our artistic inspiration comes from our own lives and memories. We tend to write about things that are relevant to us. In regards to 'daring to be different', our inspiration comes from the fact that we are very honest in our songs and we try to sing with passion.

KWI : What do you think the reason for your music to be so widely accepted?

L : We think that is because perhaps people and our fans know that we try to sing with passion and truthfulness. It also might have something to do with the fact that we always release English version of our songs for our fans abroad.

KWI : You were just debuted last year, is there any advice or support that your seniors in NEGANETWORK gave to you?

L : We had a lot of advice from our seniors, Brown Eyed Girls, who told us about how tough it can be at times to work in this industry but to enjoy what we are doing. We also had a lot of advice about the importance of staying humble and working hard to achieve our dreams.

KWI : What was the best piece of advice that you received from your seniors?

L : Stay humble and remember to be thankful to people who help you.

KWI : How long have you been playing music?

Sam (S) : I have been involved in music since the age of 7, when I learned to play the violin. Then I started to play guitar and write songs in my mid teen years.

Yun (Y) : I started playing guitar and singing at the age of 13.

Teo (T) : I started palying jazz piano at the age of 16.

KWI : What was the happiest thing you have encountered in LUNAFLY's activities?

L : We have had a lot of great moments. Having our first concert in Tokyo, Japan is a moment we will never forget. Playing at other concerts and having people sing along to our songs is also an amazing feeling. For us any moment where we meet our fans is a happy moment.

KWI : When LUNAFLY continues growing, what is the thing that will never change?

L : We will stay true to our musical colour.

KWI : If you could describe LUNAFLY in one colour, what would it be and why?

L : Purple. We regard it as a mysterious colour and a colour related to the night. As a team trying to explore feelings associated with the moon, purple would describe us well.

KWI : Are there any producers or artists that you'd like to work with?

L : We would certainly like to collaborate with our label seniors the Brown Eyed Girls.

S : I would love to work with producers I respect like Timbaland and Will.i.am

T : I would like to work with Jamie Cullum, because he's the one who inspired mw to play piano.

Y : I would like to collaborate with John Mayer.

KWI : Do you read comments that people post online about you? Which comments make you the most happiest?

L : We do tend to read some comments. We are obviously happy when our fans seem happy with our songs and work. We do try to pay attention also to our fans suggestions in song shoices as well.

KWI : If you didn't become a singer, what would you have become?

T : I think I would be involved in fashion which is another one of my passions.

S : I think I would definitely involved in music, for example song writing and producing.

Y : I would like to think a would be a song writer or footballer.

KWI : What can fans expect at F.Y.I on Stage with LUNAFLY in Indonesia?

L : Fans can expect to hear a lot of new songs. And we have a few surprises prepared.

Last Monday (March 18th), LUNAFLY announced that they will release their first physical album called "Fly to Love" on April 3rd 2013. Will they sing their new songs in the new album in Jakarta's showcase on March 28th? Let wait and see what kind of surprises that they'll give to Indonesian LUKIEs.

[ENG TRANS] [Exclusive Interview #2 with KoreanIndo] LUNAFLY reveals personal stories, excited to meet Indonesian fans!

In the first interview, the band from Nega Network and in the same company with Brown Eyed Girls talked about their name and music. In fact, Sam, Teo and Yun are love to share their interesting personal story.

Maybe some of you don't know that Sam was a football player. He's a big fans of Thierry Henry because he play in Sam's favorit team, Arsenal. "He's one of the best player in the world, he can liven up the arena. He's my inspiration and make me wanna liven up the stage just like he always do." said Sam. Not only that, Sam was one of the finalist of MBC Star Audition 2: Birth of a Great Star. So, there is no doubt for his vocal skill.

Talk about Teo, the first thing that gain a lot of attention are his sweet look and his long hairstyle. Is it just an album concept or its his real personality? "How do I look and perform, is the real me. I think my real personality really shown up in our videos." answer Teo whose able to playing piano and percussion very well.

So, how about LUNAFLY's magnae (the youngest member) personality? If in other idol group, magnae is well-known with their aegyo, how about Yun? Is he also in 'cute magnae' catogory? Yun denied the stereotype, "I'm not considering myself as 'a cute magnae'. I really don't have any aegyo. I could be so serious, but I'm trying to be more playful like Teo!"

We can find LUNAFLY's unique and nice personality from their cover songs. Not only rearranging popular songs with their own style, they also make a video with unique concept. For example in the video cover of "Locked Out Of Heaven", LUNAFLY invited a few fans to be participated and appear in the video.

Active in music industry, LUNAFLY's member are not often being participate in variaty show. Sam said that their main focus right now are produce good music and show a good live performance for fans. That's the reason why they're so busy these days. "I wanna appear in 'We Got Married'. I've been watching the show for a long time and it look so fun." said Teo, confirmed that they're so openly with every opportunity to be appear on the variety show.

Focus in music, LUNAFLY has held a concert in Japan last year. There are a lot of excited stories from their first show overseas. Famous with delicious culinary, Teo was deceived to try Japanese food that well known as a tasty meal. Because of that, his weight is increase a lot.

Yun also had unforgettable experience, "I was trapped at hotel's rooftop, after got out to found fresh air. I didn't realize that the door can't be open from outside, so I spent a few hours... waiting someone to open the door! It was so cold!"

Hopefully it won't be happen in their first come to Indonesia on March. But, what are they already know about Jakarta? "We heard the foods are so delicious! We're looking forward to taste satay and rendang."

Besides that, LUNAFLY also prepare something special for Indonesian fans, including some choosen songs and an opportunity for fans to meet them closely.

Their next project is including overseas activity, is there any plan to have a collaboration with Indonesian musician? "We're really openly to have a collaboration with Indonesian musician. Hopefully we'll have an opportunity for it." said LUNAFLY.

LUNAFLY have a dream to keep perform in front of fans around the world until the years to come and held as many world tour as possible. "Of course we also want to write and produce our album that can be proud of."

Closing brief but fun interview, LUNAFLY has a message for their fans in Indonesia.

"Thank you so much for your support. We're really appreciate every beautiful message and present from all of you. We all know that you've working so hard to show your support, and we're really really thankful. We can't wait to visit Indonesia and meet all of you and performing live in front of you. See you!"

They can sing, playing music instrument, write a song lyric, and arranged their own song. So, how nice would it be spending early day in 2013 with these awesome guys? Super awesome! January 2nd, 2013, CG! directly met with Sam, Teo and Yun in previous office of NEGANETWORK. Let's follow CG!'s talk with LUNAFLY, a rookie band from South Korea!


CosmoGIRL! (CG!) : Please tell us about the meaning of LUNAFLY's name.

Teo (T) : 'Luna' means moon in Latin. When we're looking at the moon, we all have a different feelings and emotions. For example, feeling sad, lonely or excited. We'd like to be a band like that, conveys all different emotions and feelings through our music.


CG! : You just debut 3 months ago, but already had a lot of fanclub in various country, including Indonesia. What do you feel about it?

Yun (Y) : We are very surprised that we have our fanclub around the world and we're so glad for the good responses. Thank you so much for your love and support for us.
Sam (S) : It seems like our fans appreciate that we released our songs in English and Korean. That what will be do in the future. We realized our fans all over the world want to understand every lyrics that we sing.


CG! : What is your first impression to each other? And please describe each other.

S : When I first saw Teo, I though he was a girl.
Y : I though he was a girl too. Ha... Ha... Ha...
S : Teo is a sociability, he always create an atmosphere of cheerfulness. Yun is very mature.
T : Yun is sensitive and Sam is leadership.
Y : Sam is creative and Teo is very manlike.


CG! : Your first song called Super Hero. So, who is your favorite super hero's character?

S : Batman. Because, the trutrh is he don't have any super power but he's still a super hero.
T : My parent. I really respect and appreciate them.
Y : Metallica. I like this band since I was a young boy. Their music is really cool and I also had an influence from them.


CG! : In your first Japan concert, you covered some Japanese songs. Will you covered some local songs, everytime you held an overseas concert?

S : We loved to. But it will hard to prepare. Last time, we need around 6 weeks for the preparation. Teo and Yun more fluent in Japanese than me.
Y : When we started to sing Japanese song, audiences seemed to be touched more by it. If it possible, we want to cover local song whenever we hold an oveseas concert.
S : Please send us the song list in Bahasa Indonesia, so we can learn the song, he... he... he...


CG! : What kind of concert that you wanna held in the future?

S : We want to show the other side of LUNAFLY, that's why Yun is playing drum too. Fans not only see our skill in singing and playing music instrument, but also feels so entertaining. Not just musically interesting, but also visually interesting as well.
Y : I would like to do many concert in various countries as many as possible. It would be really awesome when I see the enthusiasm of the crowd when we appear on the stage.


CG! : Luna Fans must be really curious with the answer of this question. What type of girls that you like?

S : For her look, there is no specific type. I see her personality even more. I like fun girl, has a lot of things to talk about, has a sense of humor, girly, clever and independent.
T : I like a 'motherlike' girl, good at housekeeping, could raising and take care of our children.
Y : Has a small hands and feet, good walking style and has a good body posture.


CG! : Except Seoul, what city that you want to promote in South Korea?

S : Yeosu. Because my family is living in Yeosu and the seafood is taste so great too.
T : Absolutely Jeju Island.
Y : Pohang. The view of the sea is very beautiful.


CG! : What do you wanna say to all of your fans in Indonesia?

LUNAFLY : Firstly, we saw a lot of message from Indonesia. We can't reply all of the message but we read them, all of the message give us a lot of strength. We're really appreciate every message you give to us. I do really hope one day we can come and perform live. We're really want to come to Indonesia and try Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng) and Chicken Satay (Sate Ayam). Please wait for us!

[IND TRANS] LUNAFLY Tidak Sabar untuk Bertemu Fans Malaysia dan Mencoba Makanan Malaysia

LUNAFLY debut tahun 2012 dan meraih banyak perhatian setelah mendaki chart musik dengan 'self-composed track' mereka, "How Nice Would It Be". Band ini mendapat perhatian untuk kemampuan musikal dan live performances yang luar biasa, sebagaimana mereka sering melakukan berbagai street performances dan meng-cover musik di YouTube, memperkenalkan diri mereka pada pecinta musik dan fans mereka dalam level yang lebih personal. Mereka akan mengunjungi Malaysia untuk pertama kalinya bulan Maret ini.

"F.Y.I On Stage with LUNAFLY in Kuala Lumpur" akan digelar di Taylor's University Lakeside Campus pada tanggal 30 Maret 2013. Selain itu, LUNAFLY juga akan menggelar public fan meeting untuk fans mereka pada hari Jumat, 29 Maret 2013 pukul 8pm di The Square, Publika Shopping Gallery. Ini wawancara singkat dengan para member, segera baca untuk kenal lebih baik dengan mereka.

1. Untuk mereka yang belum pernah mendengar tentang LUNAFLY sebelumnya, bagaimana kalian mendeskripsikan musik kalian?

Musik kami dapat dideskripsikan sebagai catchy, melodic dan harmonis. Musik kami juga easy listening.

2. Apa arti atau inspirasi dibalik nama LUNAFLY? Siapa yang mengusulkannya?

Nama LUNAFLY muncul saat kami melihat langit malam setelah selesai latihan. Luna berarti bulan dalam Bahasa Latin. Dan kami menyadari bahwa saat melihat bulan, kita akan merasakan perasaan dan emosi yang berbeda. Sebagai contoh, perasaan sedih atau kesepian di malam hari, atau perasaan gembira, dll. Kami ingin menjadi band yang menjadi penyampai pesan dari bulan, yang dapat mengekspresikan semua emosi dan perasaan yang berbeda dari bulan dengan musik kami.

3. LUNAFLY meraih fans melalui media sosial dan YouTube. Bagaimana media baru mempengaruhi pertumbuhan band?

Media benar-benar memberi dampak yang besar bagi pertumbuhan band. Tanpa media sosial, akan sangat sulit untuk meraih fans luar negeri kami. Kami merasa sangat beruntung dapat merilis musik kami melalui channel-channel tersebut.

4. Dari semua lagu yang pernah kalian cover di YouTube, mana yang menjadi favorit kalian secara pribadi dan mengapa?

Sam : Secara pribadi aku menyukai 'Payphone' dari Maroon5. Aku sangat menyukai lirik dan ceritanya. Aku juga merasa kami telah menjadikan lagu itu dengan gaya kami.

Yun : Aku suka 'Nothing On You' dari B.O.B dan Bruno Mars. Aku suka rap Sam!

Teo : Aku suka 'The Lazy Song' dari Bruno Mars. Lagu itu membuatku merasa senang.

5. Apakah kalian merupakan fans dari YouTube (YouTube star)? Siapa dan bagaimana kalian menemukan mereka?

Kami merupakan fans berat dari sebuah band bernama Karmin. Mereka sangat unik.

6. Mengejar karir di bidang entertain seperti pertaruhan. Bagaimana dukungan orang tua kalian ketika kalian mulai dan bagaimana perasaan mereka sekarang?

Yun : Pada awalnya orangtuaku sangat khawatir tapi mereka mendukungku untuk melakukannya, karena dukungan luar biasa yang ku terima dari label kami. Sekarang mereka tetap sangat mendukung.

Teo : Orangtuaku selalu mendukungku dalam hal apapun yang ingin ku lakukan.

Sam : Keluargaku tentu agak khawatir, terutama karena aku pindah dari Inggris. Tapi mereka menyadari bahwa aku melakukan hal yang sangat kucintai, jadi mereka sangat mendukung.

7. Arah utama apa yang sangat ingin kalian raih dengan LUNAFLY? Apa yang ingin kalian capai sebagai grup?

Kami ingin LUNAFLY terus maju selama mungkin. Kami ingin tetap menulis musik kami dan merilis album secara mendunia. Kami juga ingin terus tampil di seluruh dunia.

8. Sekarang mari berbicara tentang tur. Kalian telah siap untuk tur disini akhir Maret. Apa yang paling membuat kalian bersemangat dalam tur ini? Apa ada hal khusus yang sangat kalian lihat/rasakan?

Yun : Selama ini kami hanya berkomunikasi dengan fans Malaysia kami melalui Twitter dan media online, jadi aku menantikan bertemu mereka secara langsung.

Teo : Aku menantikan mencoba makanan Malaysia. Katanya sangat enak.

Sam : Aku menantikan tampil secara langsung dihadapan fans Malaysia kami. Mereka sudah melihat kami secara online, jadi aku ingin memberikan pertunjukan yang hebat untuk mereka.

9. Apa sarang yang ingin kalian sampaikan pada mereka yang bercita-cita menjadi musisi diluar sana?

Teo : Jika kamu berpikir bahwa kamu bisa bekerja lebih keras dari orang lain, lakukanlah!

Yun : Lakukan apa yang membuatmu bahagia.

Sam : Tetap setia pada apa yang kamu percaya, bekerja keras dan yang terpenting, jadi yang original.

Q: Genre seperti apa yang ingin kalian coba sebagai LUNAFLY?

Sam: Aku ingin mencoba elektronik suatu hari nanti.
Teo: Aku tertarik untuk mencoba jazz dan OST dengan fans LUNAFLY.
Yun: Aku ingin mencoba rock.


Q: Jika kalian berkesempatan untuk pergi ke suatu tempat untuk liburan, siapa yang ingin kalian ajak? Dan kemana kalian ingin pergi?

Sam: Aku akan memilih Yun dan membawanya ke London untuk menonton pertunjukan beberapa band British yang luar biasa.
Teo: Aku ingin pergi ke Jepang.
Yun: Aku ingin pergi ke Itali dengan Sam.


Q: Jika kalian tidak tergabung dalam LUNAFLY, apa yang menurut kalian sedang kalian kerjakan saat ini? Apakah kalian tetap menekuni karir di bidang musik, atau mengambil jalan yang berbeda?

Sam: Ku rasa aku akan bekerja di sebuah kantor.
Teo: Ku rasa aku akan belajar dan menjadi dokter gigi.
Yun: Ku rasa aku akan tetap membuat musik dan bermain dalam sebuah band.


Q: Apa yang membuat kalian memutuskan menjadi penyanyi?

Sam: Aku telah belajar dan fokus pada musik saat aku lebih muda dan bekerja di sebuah kantor, lalu aku menyadari bahwa musik membuatku bahagia.
Teo: Aku merasakan bahwa penyanyi merupakan karir yang spesial dan unik.
Yun: Aku ingin membuktikan bahwa aku bisa melakukan yang terbaik dalam musik dan hal yang ku tahu.


Q: Apa yang kalian pelajari dalam industri musik sejauh ini?

Sam: Aku belajar bahwa jika kamu ingin sukses, kamu harus bekerja keras.
Teo: Saat kami di program TV, lampu merah menandakan bahwa kami sedang direkam.
Yun: Setelah menghabiskan waktu di studio, masih ada banyak hal yang perlu ku tingkatkan.


Q: Apa yang ada dipikiran kalian tentang band Korea yang bukan merupakan idola?

Mereka semua bakat Korea yang luar biasa. Tampil di seluruh Seoul, kami telah melihat banyak band yang perlu diperhatikan. Melihat mereka membuat kami ingin bekerja lebih keras.


Q: Dimana kalian melihat diri kalian dalam 3 tahun kedepan?

Sam: Aku ingin membuat album yang disukai semua orang dan aku ingin melakukan tur dunia.
Teo: Aku ingin melihat LUNAFLY tampil di banyak program TV.
Yun: Aku ingin melihat LUNAFLY tampil diatas panggung dihadapan banyak fans.


Q: Selain dari jadwal kalian yang biasa, apa yang biasanya kalian lakukan di waktu luang? Apakah kalian orang yang lebih suka berada di luar atau lebih senang berada didalam rumah?

Sam: Aku senang membaca fiksi, menonton theater dan film. Aku juga berolahraga saat ada waktu luang.
Teo: Aku tidak suka diam di rumah. Aku senang pergi ke cafe dan bermain video games.
Yun: Aku suka membaca buku, menonton film dan berjalan-jalan.
